Delegated legislation is law made by ministers or other authorised bodies using powers given to them by an Act of Parliament. It is often used for detailed, technical, or administrative rules. The most common form is the statutory instrument. Parliament may still scrutinise delegated legislation, but the process is different from the passage of a bill.
