Weald of Kent covers a broad rural area across central and southern Kent. It includes market towns, villages and agricultural communities spread across the High Weald and surrounding countryside. The landscape is characterised by wooded hills, farmland, orchards and small settlements rather than continuous urban development. Local towns provide services for dispersed communities, while road and rail links connect parts of the constituency with Maidstone, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells and London. Overall, the seat has a strongly rural and market-town character, shaped by the distinctive landscapes of the Kentish Weald.
