Hazel Grove covers the south-eastern part of the Stockport borough in Greater Manchester. It includes Hazel Grove, Marple, Romiley and surrounding suburban and semi-rural communities. The western part is closely connected to the wider Stockport urban area, while settlements farther east lie closer to the foothills of the Peak District and are separated by more open land. Hazel Grove provides a major local centre and transport corridor, with Marple and Romiley retaining distinct town identities. Rail routes link the area with Manchester and the High Peak. The constituency therefore combines established suburbs with smaller towns, river valleys and increasingly rural landscapes toward its eastern edge.
