Local context
Great Yarmouth constituency is centred on the Norfolk coastal town of Great Yarmouth and extends into surrounding seaside and rural communities. Great Yarmouth is the largest urban centre, located between the North Sea and the River Yare, with a long maritime and resort history. The constituency also includes settlements along the coast and into the neighbouring countryside and Broads landscape. Outside the main town, development becomes more dispersed, with villages, marshes, farmland and waterways shaping the area. The seat therefore combines a sizeable coastal town with smaller seaside communities and a broad rural hinterland. Rivers, drainage channels and low-lying land are defining physical features throughout much of the constituency.
