Grantham and Bourne covers a broad area of south Lincolnshire and is centred on the towns of Grantham and Bourne. Grantham is the larger urban and transport centre, lying on major road and rail routes, while Bourne provides a separate market-town focus farther east. The constituency also contains numerous villages and rural communities spread across the Kesteven countryside and the edge of the Fens. Much of the landscape is agricultural, with settlement dispersed outside the two principal towns. The western side is more closely connected to the rolling countryside around Grantham, while the eastern part becomes flatter toward Bourne. Overall, the seat combines two substantial towns with an extensive rural hinterland.

This project will deliver weekly exercise, fitness and dance sessions. Sessions focus specifically on physical activity, movement and building long-term healthy habits for vulnerable adults, facing complex needs including poor mental health, social isolation and loneliness, physical health challenges, poverty, immigration issues and low confidence. About this award
Founded in 1926, Grantham Museum is volunteer run by the Grantham Community Heritage Association (GCHA), with the community its heart. Through this project we will: Work with Lincolnshire County Council Heritage Services towards regaining the Museum’s Collection, currently in their ownership and inaccessible to the public, and equip the museum for its storage and display. Celebrate the Museum’s centenary in 2026, the 300th anniversary of the death of Sir Isaac Newton in 2027, and the industrial heritage which shaped Grantham. Work with the local college students and volunteers to deliver an oral history project, capturing memories before they are lost; and to create engaging digital displays. Create a programme manager role and commission business development, collections curation, and accessibility consultants. Develop a training programme and strengthen our volunteer base. The project’s legacy will be a resilient, inclusive and accessible museum which safeguards and engages residents and visitors with Grantham’s heritage.
