Burton and Uttoxeter lies within East Staffordshire and is built around its two largest towns. Burton upon Trent dominates the eastern side, with neighbourhoods including Stapenhill, Winshill, Horninglow, Branston and Stretton, while Uttoxeter provides a separate market-town centre farther west. Between and around them lie villages and rural communities such as Tutbury, Rolleston-on-Dove and settlements along the Dove and Trent valleys. Burton is a substantial urban and industrial centre, whereas the western half of the constituency is more rural and agricultural. The seat therefore links two distinct towns across a broad stretch of countryside rather than following one continuous built-up area.
