The Recall of MPs Act 2015 sets out circumstances in which a recall petition can be opened for an MP. If enough eligible constituents sign the petition, the seat becomes vacant and a by-election is triggered. The Act is important for understanding some consequences of serious misconduct or criminal conviction.
