Dwyfor Meirionnydd is a large north-west Wales constituency spanning much of Gwynedd and reaching into Denbighshire at its eastern edge. Its communities range from Caernarfon and Llanberis in the north through Porthmadog, Pwllheli and the Llŷn area, to Blaenau Ffestiniog, Dolgellau, Bala, Tywyn and the Meirionnydd coast. The constituency contains extensive rural and mountainous territory as well as a long coastline. Much of the wider Gwynedd landscape is shaped by Eryri, while the Llŷn peninsula and Cardigan Bay give the western part of the seat a distinctly coastal character. Settlements are dispersed, with a mixture of small towns, villages and countryside rather than one dominant urban centre.
