West Dunbartonshire covers communities along the north bank of the River Clyde and lower Loch Lomond corridor. It includes Clydebank, Dumbarton and surrounding towns and residential areas. Clydebank has a strong shipbuilding and industrial heritage and is closely integrated with the Glasgow conurbation, while Dumbarton provides a distinct historic town centre farther west. The landscape becomes greener toward Loch Lomond and the constituency’s northern edge. Major road and rail routes follow the Clyde corridor. Overall, the seat combines substantial urban communities with a more open and scenic western hinterland.
