Perth and Kinross-shire is centred on Perth and extends across a broad area of central Scotland. Perth is the largest urban and commercial centre, set on the River Tay and connected by major road and rail routes. Beyond the city, the constituency includes market towns, villages, farmland, wooded valleys and increasingly upland landscapes. The River Tay and its tributaries form important geographical corridors, while communities farther north and west are more dispersed. The seat therefore combines one substantial regional city with a large rural hinterland extending into the Highlands and central Scottish countryside.
