Mid Dunbartonshire lies immediately north of Glasgow and includes suburban communities, towns and villages across East Dunbartonshire and neighbouring areas. Much of the constituency has a commuter character, with strong road and rail links into the city. Settlement is concentrated in established towns and suburbs, while farmland, woodland and low hills create substantial green gaps between them. The southern edge is closely integrated with the Glasgow conurbation, whereas communities farther north have a more semi-rural setting. Several local centres serve distinct communities rather than one town dominating the seat. Overall, the constituency combines outer metropolitan suburbs with villages and open countryside.

About this award
In 2027 I'll take part in Vanilla Ink CIC's INKubator, a ten-month structured programme in contemporary jewellery. It offers advanced technical skills, studio access, mentorship and critical peer dialogue, leading to a public exhibition. This project deepens my 25-year practice in narrative and socially engaged art through a medium that is material and grounded. The impacts of my work have happened in places largely inaccessible to me; changed internal states, shifted perspectives, conversations in rooms I'm not in. Jewellery is something I can witness moving through the world whilst knowing it also has the potential to invite connection, spark conversation and make change. The INKubator will give me the deeper skills I need - wax carving, casting, stone setting - to match the ambition of a practice that is out in the world and growing. My aim is to create work that invites recognition and connection, while broadening who and what contemporary jewellery in Scotland represents.

About this award
This project will see the recording and release of 4 brand new singles from rising Scottish singer-songwriter Kirsteen Harvey. Working at Chem19 Studios in Blantyre with engineer and producer Jamie Savage, Kirsteen will be taking 4 of her newest and unreleased songs into the studio to create professional recordings of them, which will be full band productions, featuring some of Scotland incredible session musicians. From mid-late summer 2026, the tracks will then be released as singles with Glasgow Based distributor EmuBands, and act as the next run of works from the Scottish artist. Based on the successes of Kirsteen's self-funded debut 'Unpredictable' E.P (Dec 2023), 'Wee Tunes from Home' E.P (March 2024) and creative Scotland funded E.P 'Senses' (July 2025), these new singles will act as the next chapter of Kirsteens musical endeavours, and allow her to remain as an active artist in the industry with a steady release plan, that will span over 7 to 8 months.
