It includes dense residential districts, major educational and cultural institutions, local shopping centres and extensive parkland. The River Kelvin and the River Clyde influence different parts of the constituency, while rail, subway and road links provide strong connections with central Glasgow. Some neighbourhoods are characterised by traditional tenement streets, while others have a more suburban or modern residential form. Large green spaces and university-related areas create substantial breaks in the built-up landscape. The constituency is therefore a compact urban seat with several distinctive neighbourhood centres rather than a single dominant town.

About this award
Caught Hold of Nothing is a full-length interdisciplinary performance work combining choreography, live/recorded music, and scenography. The work explores cycles of collapse and regeneration through immersive physical and sonic environments, building toward endurance and fragility and inviting audiences into a shared, affective experience. Following an extremely successful Creative Scotland-funded development phase, this next stage focuses on completing a tour-ready production, with a work-in-progress showing at EAF 2026 and the world-premiere of the finished work at EAF 2027. The project develops Scotland-based artistic talent; embeds inclusive and sustainable practices; consolidates international collaborations; develops ambitious interdisciplinary practice; and establishes touring infrastructure, enabling the work to reach audiences nationally and internationally while sustaining a professional, supportive, and conscious creative process rooted in Scotland.

About this award
Camlann is an audio fiction series that completed a nine episode season in 2024 – winner of multiple awards including Best Podcast at the International Media Festival of Wales. The story draws on British mythology and Arthuriana – telling the story of a group of queer and disabled survivors of an apocalyptic event. The response was emphatically positive both critically and amongst the large audience we were able to accumulate – quickly becoming the most popular show distributed by Tin Can Audio. Following a sold-out live show at the London Podcast Festival 2025, we would like to continue the Camlann story in nine episodes to continue to spread the influence of Scottish audio drama. Camlann is a UK-wide production with a global audience and through this second instalment we aim to strengthen links between Scottish creatives, industry professionals in England and Wales, and audiences all over the world.
