Glasgow North East covers a broad area of northern and north-eastern Glasgow. It includes former industrial and residential communities extending from neighbourhoods close to the city centre toward the outer edge of the council area. Much of the constituency is densely urban, with older housing, post-war estates, commercial areas and redevelopment sites. Major road and rail corridors pass through the seat, while parks, sports grounds and former industrial land provide larger open spaces. The constituency contains several distinct local centres rather than a single dominant town. Its geography reflects the wider development of northern Glasgow, combining long-established urban districts with later residential expansion toward the city boundary.

About this award
I'm on a mission to create Scotland's First Gaelic Mural Trail. Spanning across the entire country, the trail will be present in our urban, rural and island communities. The Gaelic Mural Trail will comprise of unique and individual artworks, all representative of the community they exist in. The design process will include site-specific research, artists residencies and community workshops. Although each artwork will be unique and represent the location/community they are in, all murals will have Gaelic language incorporated in the design. Each mural will come with a QR code that will take the viewer to a comprehensive website that will include information, audio recordings and a trail map. This funding application is for the planning phase of The Gaelic Mural Trail.

Glasgow City Foundation aims to preserve and share an under-documented part of Scotland’s women’s football heritage and wider cultural history by creating a publicly accessible record of the story of Glasgow City FC. Glasgow City FC has played a significant role in raising standards, participation and visibility within the women’s game. However, unlike men’s football, women’s football history has received limited formal recognition and archiving. This project addresses that gap through a written book, oral history recordings and a digital archive capturing the voices of founders, players and the wider community. The project reflects broader themes of women’s leadership, representation and cultural change. Making this heritage publicly accessible ensures that the story of Scotland’s most successful women’s football club, and the women behind it, is properly recognised.
