Bathgate and Linlithgow stretches across central West Lothian and into the neighbouring Falkirk council area. It includes Bathgate and Boghall, Linlithgow and nearby villages, Armadale and Blackridge, Whitburn and Blackburn, together with part of the Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh area. The constituency also reaches east into the Bo’ness area of Falkirk. These places form a chain of towns and former industrial communities between the Edinburgh and Falkirk areas, separated in places by farmland and open countryside. The Union Canal and transport corridors across the central belt help shape the area, while the constituency brings together several distinct local centres rather than being dominated by a single town.

Tandem is ten! And we’re celebrating with a festival of words. A birthday is a time to celebrate, a time to reflect on the past and look to the future. To mark Tandem Writing Collective’s tenth birthday, we present the ultimate new writing night, featuring theatre, poetry, art and music all on the themes of growth, time and transformation. For one night only, we will showcase a staggering ten tasters of new work and invite you to join the celebration, discover new creatives and support grassroots artists. Tandem Writing Collective also commits to working with at least ten artists it has never worked with before as part of this project. Playwrights Jennifer Adam and Mhairi Quinn will also offer a workshop on "Page to Performance: Starting a Scratch Theatre Company" as part of the Festival.
