Angus and Perthshire Glens is a large rural constituency spanning northern Angus and parts of Perth and Kinross. In Angus it includes Forfar, Kirriemuir, Brechin and Montrose, while its Perthshire section reaches through Blairgowrie, the Strathmore area and into Highland Perthshire around places such as Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and the surrounding glens. The landscape changes markedly across the seat: agricultural lowlands around Strathmore and the Angus towns give way to upland glens and mountainous country farther west. It therefore contains several separate market and service towns rather than one dominant urban centre. The constituency also reaches the east coast at Montrose, giving it both coastal and Highland-influenced geography.

About this award
Through the creation of a Commemorative Spitfire sculpture our project will achieve the following: Celebrate the unique, and nationally important ,aviation heritage of the Montrose Area Commemorate the sacrifice of the Airmen that lost their lives serving from Montrose Air Station in both world wars. Preserve, display and incorporate unique physical heritage that is due to be entirely removed from its original siting without any current plans for its preservation. Involve local young people in understanding, celebrating and valuing their heritage through immersing them its historical importance both locally and nationally. Promote the heritage work of the Montrose Air Station Museum and attract support from other volunteer groups and individuals, creating stronger ties to the local community across generations. Teach young people traditional and modern metalworking skills that have direct relevance to the preservation of the heritage and use them to fabricate the sculpture while involving them in its design.

About this award
My forthcoming album is a deeply personal project rooted in place, voice, and identity. Written and recorded in my hometown of Dundee, the music will draw from traditional Scottish soundscapes such as fiddle textures, ambient drones, and folk-inspired rhythms, while lyrically exploring contemporary storytelling, identity, and belonging. This fusion of old and new reflects my ongoing commitment to bridging heritage and innovation in my songwriting. I'm excited to be collaborating with two incredible Scottish musicians and producers: Andrew Wasylyk, known for his cinematic compositions and atmospheric arrangements, and Ciaran McEneny, whose work blends experimental production with heartfelt sensitivity. Together, we’ll craft a sonic world that feels both intimate and expansive. The album represents a new chapter in my creative journey, one that honours the past while fully embracing the present and I can’t wait to share it.
