Local context
Aberdeenshire North and Moray East is a large north-east Scotland constituency spanning parts of Aberdeenshire and Moray. It includes the coastal towns of Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Banff, Macduff, Buckie and Cullen, together with Keith and a wide area of smaller settlements and countryside inland from the Moray Firth and North Sea. The boundary also reaches east of the River Spey in Moray. Fishing ports, coastal communities and agricultural hinterland are prominent features of the seat, while the larger towns provide local service centres for surrounding villages and rural areas. Rather than being focused on a single urban centre, the constituency is spread across a long stretch of coastline with substantial rural territory behind it.

Banff Castle Community Association
The Project will improve connectivity within Banff Castle to support local traders community activities and events. At present due to the thickness of the historic stone walls internet access is unreliable across the building.
Grant to Individual
Freedom Cries Out is a classical song project exploring the stories of displaced people and refugees through themes of homeland, exile, war, family and hope. Statistics show around 100 million people displaced globally. Data can change the mind. Art can touch the heart. Daniel Peter Silcock, alongside soprano Samantha Crawford, share a vision, to shine a light on the often poorly illuminated stories of refugees, and seek to engage a new audience with song through recording Freedom Cries Out for Delphian records and distributing globally. Freedom Cries Out will bring previously unrecorded and rarely performed music to public attention, particularly works by women and Black composers; connecting historical and contemporary voices to strengthen diversity in classical song; inspiring audiences through stories of courage, dignity and hope. Alongside recording the album, we have already planned for performances across North-East Scotland at venues with strong links to refugee communities.
Portknockie Community Association SCIO
This group will use the funding to decorate their hall in Portknockie and purchase 20 new tables.
Portknockie Bowling and Tennis Club
This group will use the funding to replace old windows and doors in their community hub in Portknockie to improve the warmth and efficiency for all users.
REAP
This group will use the funding to run their Social & Therapeutic gardening project for vulnerable adults in and around Keith Moray. This is a 1 year project.
