Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk covers most of the Scottish Borders and is one of the geographically largest constituencies in Scotland. Its main towns include Galashiels, Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose and Selkirk, while the eastern part reaches through Berwickshire towards Duns, Eyemouth and the North Sea coast. Much of the constituency is rural, with settlements separated by farmland, river valleys and upland areas. The boundary follows almost all of the Scottish Borders wards outside western Tweeddale, bringing together communities from the Tweed and Teviot valleys to the eastern border country. Its scale and dispersed settlement pattern mean that no single town dominates the seat in the way a large urban centre would.
