Wirral West covers the western side of the Wirral peninsula and includes suburban and coastal communities facing the Dee estuary and Irish Sea. The constituency is predominantly residential and lower-density than the more urban eastern Wirral. Local centres are separated by parks, farmland and coastal open spaces, while the shoreline and estuary strongly shape the western edge. Road and rail links connect communities with Liverpool and the wider peninsula. Overall, the seat combines established suburbs with coastal landscapes, villages and significant green space.

About this award
The project will provide new basketball opportunities for girls. Coaches will deliver two hours of come and try sessions, followed by 40, one-hour weekly under 12 training sessions at Woodchurch High School. These sessions will prepare for the launch of a new league team in September. In addition, the project will run six, five-hour holiday camp sessions across the year. Funding will contribute to game fees required for court usage and officials, and pay for coaching, promotion, facility hire, equipment and training, including Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications and activator courses.
