Watford is a major commercial, employment and transport centre immediately north-west of London, with extensive residential neighbourhoods and strong rail connections. The town centre and railway stations provide the principal focus, while suburban communities extend toward the surrounding green belt. Major roads connect the area with the M1, M25 and wider Hertfordshire network. Parks and river corridors provide significant open spaces. Overall, the seat is strongly urban and suburban, focused on one large commuter town.
