Truro and Falmouth combines the cathedral city of Truro with the coastal town of Falmouth and surrounding communities in central Cornwall. Truro is the principal administrative and commercial centre, while Falmouth has a strong maritime, university and harbour character. Between and around them are villages, farmland, wooded creeks and estuarine landscapes. The Fal estuary is one of the constituency’s defining physical features, while inland areas become more rural and dispersed. Road and rail links connect the seat with the wider Cornish peninsula. Overall, it combines two distinct towns with a substantial rural and coastal hinterland.
