Torridge and Tavistock is a large rural constituency in western Devon centred on towns such as Bideford and Tavistock. It extends across villages, farmland, river valleys and upland landscapes between the north Devon coast and Dartmoor. Bideford provides an important coastal and estuary centre, while Tavistock is a historic market town close to the western edge of Dartmoor. Settlement is widely dispersed across the constituency, and travel is shaped by a network of rural roads. Overall, the seat combines market towns, coastal communities and extensive countryside across a broad part of western Devon.
