Tiverton and Minehead stretches across a broad part of Devon and Somerset and is centred on the towns of Tiverton and Minehead. Tiverton is an inland market and service town, while Minehead is a distinct coastal centre on the Bristol Channel. Between and around them are villages, farmland, wooded valleys and upland landscapes associated with Exmoor and the surrounding countryside. Settlement is widely dispersed outside the principal towns. Major roads connect the area with Exeter, Taunton and the wider South West. Overall, the constituency combines two contrasting towns with an extensive rural and coastal hinterland.
