Staffordshire Moorlands covers a large rural and upland area in north-east Staffordshire. It includes towns such as Leek and smaller communities spread across valleys, farmland, moorland and the western edge of the Peak District. Leek is one of the principal local centres, while villages and smaller towns provide services for widely dispersed rural communities. The landscape becomes increasingly rugged toward the Derbyshire border, with high ground and wooded valleys shaping travel and settlement. Road links connect the constituency with Stoke-on-Trent, Macclesfield and the Peak District. Overall, the seat has a strongly rural and upland character.
