St Neots is the principal urban and transport centre, located beside the River Great Ouse with strong road and rail connections. Beyond the town, settlement becomes more dispersed across farmland, river valleys and commuter villages. The constituency lies between Cambridge, Bedford and Peterborough and has strong links to all three areas. Overall, the seat combines one substantial market and commuter town with a broad semi-rural and rural hinterland.
