Sevenoaks constituency is centred on the Kent town of Sevenoaks and includes surrounding suburban, village and rural communities. Sevenoaks is the principal town and commuter centre, with a historic core, extensive residential neighbourhoods and strong rail links to London. Beyond it, the constituency contains green-belt land, woodland, farmland and smaller settlements spread across the North Downs and Weald. Major roads connect the area with London, Tonbridge and the wider county. The seat therefore combines a prosperous commuter town with a substantial countryside hinterland, and development becomes markedly less dense away from the main transport corridors.
