Old Bexley and Sidcup covers suburban communities in the London Borough of Bexley. It is centred on Sidcup, Old Bexley and surrounding neighbourhoods, with a predominantly residential character and several established local centres. The constituency lies on the outer edge of south-east London, where development becomes lower-density and green-belt land and open spaces are more prominent. Rail and road links connect the area with central London, Kent and neighbouring boroughs. Parks, woodland and playing fields break up the built environment. Overall, the seat has a distinctly outer-London suburban character rather than the denser form found closer to central London.
