Nottingham North and Kimberley stretches from northern Nottingham into communities in neighbouring Broxtowe. The southern part is closely integrated with the city and contains extensive residential neighbourhoods, while the outer part includes Kimberley and surrounding suburban or semi-rural communities. The constituency therefore crosses a local-authority boundary and combines urban Nottingham with settlements beyond the city edge. Major road links connect the area with Nottingham, the M1 and towns farther north and west. Open land and former industrial areas separate some communities. Overall, the seat has a mixed urban, suburban and semi-rural character.
