Mid Sussex covers a broad area of central West Sussex and includes towns such as Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill together with surrounding villages and countryside. The two main towns provide the largest concentrations of population, with strong rail links toward London and Brighton. Outside them, settlement becomes more dispersed across the Weald, with farmland, woodland and smaller communities separating built-up areas. The South Downs influence the southern edge, while the High Weald lies farther north and east. The constituency therefore combines growing commuter towns with a substantial rural hinterland and sits between the larger urban centres of Brighton, Crawley and the south coast.

This project will provide a gym in the sports hall at Chalkhill Mental Health Hospital, enabling access to physical activity for young people aged 13 to 18 with complex mental health disorders. Multiple equipment pieces will be bought such as a treadmill and a rowing machine. The project will also train staff in fitness education, so they are able to support the young people to use physical activity to support their mental health. Funding will cover the purchase of equipment.
