Manchester Withington covers south Manchester neighbourhoods around Withington, Didsbury and neighbouring suburban communities. The constituency is predominantly residential, with a mixture of Victorian streets, later suburban development and busy local centres. Didsbury and Withington provide distinct shopping and transport focuses, while parks and river corridors create significant green spaces. The River Mersey influences the southern part of the seat, and major road, tram and bus routes connect the area with central Manchester and the airport corridor. Compared with inner-city constituencies, much of the seat has a lower-density suburban character. Overall, it combines several established south Manchester communities within one continuous urban area.
