Kingston upon Hull West and Haltemprice combines western Hull with suburban communities in the neighbouring East Riding. The Hull section includes dense residential neighbourhoods and areas close to the city centre and Humber, while the Haltemprice side contains more suburban settlements immediately west of the city. Major roads link the constituency with central Hull, the Humber Bridge and the wider East Riding. The built-up area is largely continuous across the local-authority boundary, although development becomes lower-density farther west. The constituency therefore joins inner and outer parts of the same wider Hull urban area rather than combining the city with a large rural district.

This project delivers a mobile sports and youth offer in areas of high deprivation using a fully equipped van staffed by trained youth workers and qualified sports coaches. The van provides sports equipment enabling young people to try activities locally and at convenient evening times.
