Beyond the main built-up area, settlement becomes more dispersed across villages and agricultural countryside. Major road and rail routes connect Kettering with Northampton, Leicester, Corby and London, reinforcing its role as a regional centre. The constituency therefore has a mixed character: most of its population is concentrated in and around Kettering, while its outer areas retain a more rural North Northamptonshire landscape.
