About this constituency

Henley and Thame covers a broad area of South Oxfordshire centred on Henley-on-Thames and Thame. It also includes Chinnor, Watlington, Wheatley, Goring, Sonning Common and numerous villages across the Chilterns and Thames Valley. Henley is a historic riverside town on the Thames, while Thame provides a separate market-town centre farther north-east. Outside the main settlements, much of the constituency is rural, with farmland, wooded hills and villages separated by substantial open countryside. The Chiltern landscape shapes the south-eastern part, while communities nearer Oxford occupy lower ground to the west. The seat therefore combines several commuter and market towns with an extensive rural hinterland.
