Hayes and Harlington lies in the London Borough of Hillingdon immediately north of Heathrow Airport. It is centred on Hayes and Harlington and includes surrounding west London residential and industrial neighbourhoods. The constituency is predominantly urban and suburban, with major road and rail infrastructure strongly influencing its geography. Hayes provides the main commercial centre, while the Elizabeth line and other rail services connect the area rapidly with central London and Heathrow. Large employment and industrial sites occupy parts of the seat, particularly toward the airport corridor. Parks, canals and open spaces provide some relief from continuous development, but the constituency is firmly part of outer west London.
