Farnham and Bordon spans parts of Surrey and Hampshire and is centred on the towns of Farnham and Bordon. Farnham is a historic market town with a compact centre and extensive surrounding suburbs, while Bordon has a different character shaped by military land and more recent redevelopment. The constituency also includes villages and rural communities across the wooded landscape between the two towns. Much of the seat lies within areas of heathland, woodland and countryside close to the Surrey Hills and South Downs. Major roads connect the area with Guildford, Winchester and London. The constituency therefore combines two distinct towns with a substantial rural and semi-rural hinterland.
