Esher and Walton is a suburban Surrey constituency centred on Esher and Walton-on-Thames. It also includes communities such as Thames Ditton, Hersham, Cobham and Molesey, with the River Thames shaping much of the northern boundary. The constituency is predominantly residential and commuter-oriented, with several distinct town and village centres separated by green-belt land, woodland and river corridors. Walton and Esher are among the largest commercial centres, while smaller communities retain more localised identities. Rail and road links provide strong connections with London and the wider Surrey area. The seat therefore combines affluent suburbs, riverside settlements and significant open space rather than one continuous urban centre.
