Eltham and Chislehurst crosses the borough boundary between Greenwich and Bromley in south-east London. It combines Eltham and surrounding neighbourhoods with Chislehurst and nearby suburban communities. The constituency is predominantly residential and suburban, with several distinct local centres rather than one large town. Eltham is more closely connected to inner south-east London, while Chislehurst has a greener, lower-density character and lies closer to the Kent boundary. Woodland, parks and open spaces are more prominent than in many inner-London seats, particularly around Chislehurst and the southern edge. Rail and road routes link the constituency with central London, Bromley and neighbouring parts of Kent.
