Ellesmere Port and Bromborough stretches along the Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal corridor across Cheshire West and Chester and the Wirral. It is centred on Ellesmere Port and extends north into Bromborough and neighbouring communities on the Wirral peninsula. The constituency has a strong industrial and transport character, shaped by docks, manufacturing areas, motorways and railways along the Mersey-side corridor. Ellesmere Port is the largest town, while Bromborough forms part of the continuous eastern Wirral urban area. Residential districts sit alongside large industrial sites and areas of open land. The seat therefore links communities on both sides of a local-authority boundary through one connected estuarine and industrial landscape.
