Ealing Southall covers the western and south-western parts of the London Borough of Ealing and is centred on Southall. It also includes Hanwell, Norwood Green and neighbouring residential areas. Southall is the largest and busiest local centre, with a strong high-street and transport focus around the railway station, while Hanwell provides another established town centre farther east. The constituency is densely urban and suburban, but contains parks, canal corridors and open land that separate some neighbourhoods. Major rail and road routes connect the area with central London, Heathrow and the wider Thames Valley. The seat is therefore focused on a continuous west London urban area rather than a rural fringe.
