Croydon West covers the western and north-western side of central Croydon. It includes Broad Green, Selhurst, Waddon, West Thornton and South Norwood, together with Croydon’s main central area around Fairfield. The constituency is densely urban, with closely connected residential neighbourhoods, commercial centres, railway corridors and major roads. Central Croydon provides the principal shopping, employment and transport focus, while South Norwood and the western districts have their own established local centres. Parks and recreation grounds provide some larger open spaces, but most of the seat forms part of the continuous south London built-up area. Its compact geography contrasts with the more suburban outer parts of the borough.

Little Crowns Storyhouse - Theatre - National Lottery Project Grants
Fringe of Colour Summer 2026 will involve three key projects: 1) Fringe of Colour Responses 2) The Fringe of Colour Database 3) Community Events We will publish twenty essays (Responses) between July and September 2026 by Scotland-based Writers of Colour, reflecting on work by Scotland-based Artists of Colour that is taking place at Edinburgh’s August festivals. Each Response will be accompanied by a high-quality audio recording. These Responses will act as a pilot for the project's future year-round publishing activities. We intend to submit another application to the National Lottery Open Fund for Organisations following this current application, to fund Responses and other year-round activities from October onwards. We will also release a Database of shows and events by Artists of Colour at the Edinburgh festivals (the seventh in our series) and produce community events during the August festival period. All activities are made possible thanks to meaningful partnerships and collaborations.
