Coventry East covers the eastern side of Coventry and includes neighbourhoods such as Binley, Stoke, Wyken, Upper Stoke and parts of the city’s eastern suburban edge. The constituency is almost entirely urban, with residential districts, industrial and commercial areas and major road corridors forming a continuous built-up landscape. Stoke and Wyken lie closer to the city centre, while Binley and the outer eastern neighbourhoods have a more suburban character and meet open land toward Warwickshire. The A46 and other major routes provide links around and beyond Coventry. Overall, the seat represents the city’s eastward urban corridor rather than including a separate rural hinterland.

Coventry City Council aims to increase participation in physical activity among priority groups, working in collaboration with key local organisations, stakeholders and potential operators for each facility. The project aims to support the activation of six PlayZone facilities across the city. Expected Project Outcomes and Impact: Participation Growth - increase in weekly participation across targeted groups. Underrepresented Groups - At least two additional underrepresented groups engaged weekly. Retention - 60% of participants attending at least six sessions. Wellbeing Outcomes - 60% reporting improved confidence, physical activity levels/wellbeing. Sustainability - At least 50% of community-led sessions established by the end of the funded period.
