Corby and East Northamptonshire combines the large town of Corby with a broad rural area extending east and south through North Northamptonshire. It includes communities such as Oundle, Thrapston and Raunds as well as many smaller villages. Corby is by far the largest urban centre and has a modern industrial and residential character shaped by its twentieth-century growth. Beyond the town, the constituency becomes predominantly rural, with market towns and villages separated by farmland and river valleys. The eastern side reaches toward the Cambridgeshire border, while the southern part follows the Nene valley. The seat therefore brings together a substantial planned town with a wide traditional countryside hinterland.
