Clacton is an Essex coastal constituency within Tendring, centred on Clacton-on-Sea and extending along the North Sea coast through Frinton and Walton, as well as Jaywick Sands and St Osyth. Its boundary also takes in Little Clacton and a series of smaller inland villages and rural wards. Clacton-on-Sea provides the largest urban centre and its seafront is one of Tendring’s principal visitor areas. Beyond the main resort, the constituency combines other seaside communities with lower-density countryside and settlements stretching inland from the coast. This gives the seat a mixed physical character: compact residential neighbourhoods around the coastal towns, long stretches of seafront, and a broader rural hinterland across Tendring.
