Chesterfield constituency is centred on the Derbyshire town of Chesterfield and contains most of its built-up area together with neighbouring suburbs. It includes the town centre and communities such as Brimington, Dunston, Hasland, Holmebrook, Newbold and Walton. Chesterfield forms the clear commercial and transport focus, with residential neighbourhoods spreading outward into the surrounding valley landscape. Former industrial land and major road and rail routes remain prominent features, reflecting the town’s development around manufacturing and mining. Toward the edge of the constituency, the urban area meets more open countryside and the wider North East Derbyshire district, but the seat itself is predominantly urban and suburban.
