Chester North and Neston crosses the Cheshire West and Chester borough from the northern half of Chester toward the Wirral peninsula. It includes Chester neighbourhoods such as Blacon, Upton, Newton and Hoole, then reaches north-west through Saughall and rural communities to Neston, Parkgate and Willaston. The constituency therefore combines part of a compact historic city with smaller towns, villages and countryside closer to the Dee estuary. Chester provides the largest urban and transport centre, while Neston forms a distinct community toward the north-west. Open farmland and estuarine landscapes separate parts of the seat, giving it a more varied character than a wholly urban Chester constituency.

This project will replace the rowing club aging landing stage, a piece of infrastructure that enables safe access to the water for all rowing activity. The existing stage is beyond its intended service life and now presents an increasing operational risk. Replacing it will protect and expand participation in rowing including juniors, adults, recreational rowers, competitive athletes, and beginners from the local area. The stage also supports wider community sporting events on the River Dee. Costs requested for the landing stage.

This project will deliver two cohorts through a 12-week flexible physical activity programme, supporting adults in Chester and West Cheshire experiencing mental ill-health and low income, including asylum seekers. The programme offers three weekly access points: online bodyweight training, a 60-minute guided walk, and a weekly 'Try Something New' activity. Over 12 weeks, participants will experience 12 different activities, building confidence, social connection and sustainable habits that support progression towards 150 minutes of weekly activity. Funding will cover coaching, facility hire, staff, equipment, transport and promotion costs.
