Local context
Chatham and Aylesford crosses the boundary between Medway and Tonbridge and Malling in Kent. It includes central and southern Chatham, Luton, Walderslade and parts of Rochester, then extends west through Aylesford, Larkfield, Snodland, Burham and Wouldham. The constituency follows part of the River Medway corridor and contains a mixture of dense urban neighbourhoods, suburban development, former industrial areas and smaller riverside communities. Chatham is the largest urban centre, while Aylesford and Snodland provide distinct centres farther west. The land becomes more open around the Medway valley and the North Downs edge, creating a transition from the Medway towns into smaller Kent settlements.

This project will deliver four weekly physical activity sessions for 50 weeks. Sessions will be 90 minutes including boxercise, circuit training, boccia, table tennis and inclusive fitness activities delivered at The Magpie Centre in Chatham to increase regular physical and social activity. Project sessions will target those aged 50 plus, adult volunteers and women and girls. Funding will contribute towards coaching costs, equipment and project management costs.
