Local context
Broxtowe lies immediately west of Nottingham and includes Beeston, Chilwell, Stapleford, Eastwood, Bramcote, Toton, Attenborough, Trowell, Awsworth, Greasley and Brinsley. The southern and eastern parts form part of the continuous Nottingham urban area, with Beeston and Chilwell providing major suburban centres. Farther north and west, Eastwood and the former mining communities have more distinct town identities and are separated by open land. The River Trent and Attenborough nature reserve shape the southern edge, while transport routes toward Derby and Nottingham cross the constituency. Overall, the seat combines dense suburban districts with smaller towns and former industrial communities on the edge of the conurbation.
