Broxbourne constituency follows the Lea Valley through southern Hertfordshire. It is centred on Cheshunt, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne and Waltham Cross and also includes Goffs Oak, Turnford and Wormley. The current seat extends slightly north into East Hertfordshire around Stanstead Abbotts, Great Amwell and Hertford Heath. Most of the population lives in a continuous north–south urban and suburban corridor close to the railway and major roads, while the eastern and northern edges contain more open countryside. The River Lea and Lee Valley form an important physical feature along the western side. The constituency therefore combines several closely linked commuter towns with villages and green spaces at the edge of Greater London.
