Blackpool South covers most of central and southern Blackpool and lies wholly within the Blackpool unitary authority. It includes the town centre and neighbourhoods such as Bloomfield, Claremont, Layton, Marton, Highfield, Squires Gate and Tyldesley. The constituency stretches from the seafront eastward through dense residential streets and suburban districts, with the promenade and resort area forming a prominent western edge. Central Blackpool has a compact urban form, while places such as Marton and Squires Gate become more suburban toward the town’s outer boundary. Unlike Blackpool North and Fleetwood, the seat does not extend into Wyre and is focused entirely on Blackpool itself.

We will harness the power of our community to transform a neglected part of our theatre into a comfortable, and welcoming space. We will introduce new seating and unlock the rich tapestry of stories woven into the fabric of our Gallery - from audience members, to those who graced the stage, or worked behind the scenes. The Grand boasts a unique 132-year history at the heart of Blackpool - the world’s first working-class holiday resort. Its inauguration drew a crowd of 3,000. Today, with capacity restricted to 1,050, the Gallery - a third of our seating - has become business critical. As our engagement with children and young people expands - the demand for tickets hasn't due to the discomfort in the Gallery. Whilst restoring the gallery we will address and unlock the hidden memories held within these walls, celebrating the legacy of The Grand for generations to come.
