Blackburn constituency covers the town of Blackburn and lies wholly within Blackburn with Darwen. It includes the town centre and surrounding neighbourhoods such as Audley, Bastwell, Beardwood, Ewood, Little Harwood, Livesey, Mill Hill, Roe Lee and Wensley Fold. The constituency is predominantly urban, with dense residential districts and former industrial areas surrounding Blackburn’s commercial centre. Toward its western and northern edges, neighbourhoods such as Pleasington and Beardwood become lower-density and closer to open countryside. Road and rail routes radiate from the town toward Preston, Burnley and Greater Manchester. The seat is therefore strongly focused on one principal urban centre rather than a collection of separate towns.
