Birmingham Edgbaston covers a broad part of western and south-western Birmingham. It is made up of Bartley Green, Edgbaston, Harborne, North Edgbaston and Quinton. The constituency therefore stretches from relatively central neighbourhoods around Edgbaston outward through established suburbs to the city’s western edge. Harborne and Edgbaston provide distinct local centres, while Bartley Green and Quinton have a more outer-suburban character. The seat is wholly within Birmingham but contains noticeably different urban forms, from denser inner residential areas to lower-density neighbourhoods closer to the boundary with Sandwell and Worcestershire. It is a geographically coherent west Birmingham constituency rather than one focused on the city centre itself.
